First, my "dumbass" didn't reply during the so-called logic/diplomacy phase because I was unaware of this thread at that time. I added to the thread shortly after I became aware of it.

If a vaccine was the be-all-end-all to ending this, then why have there been multiple re-opening attempts worldwide prior to the vaccine's release? Either it's not the be-all-end-all or, what I personally believe, the human species has not and does not had/have what it takes to overcome this. Over a year ago, I was hoping my employer would shut down. That would've been the right thing. I could've locked myself in my apartment for a handful of months, unpaid if necessary, until this fucking Covid passed, without the supposed NEED for a vaccine. But, whether out of my employer's greed, or it's misplaced intention of keeping people getting a paycheque, we stayed open. The fact that our human species has concocted an economic system where too many people can't afford too miss one god-damn, mother-fucking, cock-sucking paycheque without bouncing a rent cheque is a HUGE fucking reason we're stilling going through this. No, I'm not convinced we deserve to survive this. Our species did the holocaust, for fuck's sakes.

We tried to reopen before a vaccine was available because the vaccine was not available and we were/are facing economic crises and we needed to do something. Seems rather obvious. We hoped that just precautions about gatherings and proximity would be sufficient, it obviously was not.

Lots of people have been affected by all the uncertainties that the pandemic created but very few go with the reaction that they feel continuing the pandemic is the solution. Unvaccinated infections represent 72 per cent of Friday’s total, despite being no more than 29 per cent of Ontario’s population.

I'll take your facts at face value. I can understand the correlation between the unvaccinated and new Covid cases. I'm not claiming that the vaccines don't work. I'm not Trumpian enough to think there's a microchip in there. That does seem a little silly to me. I'm just saying getting vaccinated isn't a priority for me. For those that want it, I hope you get it and it works. I wish you no harm. If I did, the only thing that would be worse than that would be for me to wish you commit suicide.

Anyway, I've grown tired of being insulted and encouraged to take my own life. So, I'm going to go ahead and agree to disagree. You may have the last word. I chose vaccination for a multitude of reasons unrelated to my personal concern for safety. However, there are a multitude of reasons that could weigh against vaccination. From someone with a long history in statistical analysis it is true that vaccines same exponentially more lives than are lost. The numbers defy comparison. So it would seem imminently sensible to get vaccinated. The possibility of an adverse outcome is so inconsequential. Except, if you are one of that small segment of the population that has the adverse effect. My best wishes for a positive outcome for your father and your family.
